Platforms will serve under the Inspiration class in the Royal Navy. Four ships are planned in the Type 31 program for the United Kingdom. The first vessel of the class will be named HMS Active as well.

Type 31 frigates are planned to replace the existing Type 23 fleet. Platforms will be larger and longer than their predecessors as well.

Ships will be equipped with next-generation electronics infrastructure and 4D radars. The Royal Navy will reach significant capability enhancement after Type 26 and Type 31s in the future.
