SSB Holds Defence Industry GHOST Workshop
The Turkish defence industry is preparing for the combat conditions of the 2050s with the Technologies to Shape the Future's Operational Environment (GHOST) Workshop. The defence industry sector, the Turkish Armed Forces, academics and experts will prepare the Turkish army of the future together for the operational environment.
Under the coordination of the Defence Industry Presidency (SSB), with the participation of ASELSAN, TÜBİTAK, TUSAŞ, ROKETSAN, HAVELSAN and STM, a call for the competition was made within the scope of the GHOST Workshop. GHOST aims to outline a framework to describe the future's operational environment and reveal new technologies.
The competition aims to encourage innovative ideas for the Turkish defence industry. The results of the first stage of the competition, where applications will continue until June 12, 2023, will be announced in July 2023. Editors who qualify for the second phase will be given training and an opportunity to review their replay scripts. The results of the second stage will be announced with the Award Ceremony in September. Prizes will be awarded to the best six fictions.
SSB President Professor İsmail Demir, SSB Vice President Mustafa Murat Şeker, ASELSAN Chairman and General Manager Professor Haluk Görgün, HAVELSAN General Manager Dr Mehmet Akif Nacar, STM Board Member and General Manager Özgür Güleryüz, ROKETSAN Deputy General Manager Murat Kurtuluş and TUSAŞ Deputy General Manager Dr Besides Özkan Altay attended the workshop.
