Poland Acquires Excess US Cougar MRAPs
Poland and the United States inked a government-to-government deal for 300 surplus 4x4 US Cougar mine-resistant, ambush-protected (MRAP) vehicles for the Polish Armed Forces. The Polish Armaments Inspectorate (AI) reported that the AI valued the deal at USD27.5 million, including logistics and training package, with all vehicles slated to be delivered in the first quarter of 2022.

According to the AI, the MRAPs will be overhauled and adapted according to the requirements of the Polish Armed Forces and national traffic regulations when they are sent to Poland.

Poland Acquires Excess US Cougar MRAPs

The Cougar has a 330 horsepower engine that produces a speed of 88–105 km/h and a range of 670 km, a gross vehicle weight of 17.2 tonnes, a load capacity of 2.7 tonnes, and can carry four troops in addition to two crew members.
