Russian Navy Black Sea Fleet opened fire to Royal Navy’s HMS Defender Destroyer. The Russian Defence Ministry announced it and the United Kingdom denied that they were under attack.
Russia released video footage proving that the British vessel was teased. The British response was to provide video images and interview with BBC reporter. In a return, Russia published the communication between two navies. British vessel says, “we are making innocent passage according to international law. Your actions are unsafe, unprofessional. Are you threatening?” Russian answer is “This is not innocent passage area, for foreign or government vessel. Leave the area.
