The Navy's Board of Inspection and Survey performed a series of inspections and evaluations of the ship's operations, operations, and onboard systems, such as navigation, combat systems, and communications. The vessel will be delivered to the service branch from Pascagoula, Mississippi, in 2022.The last Ingalls Shipbuilding-built Flight IIA destroyer will be dispatched to the Navy as the agency moves to Flight III destroyer ships.The Arleigh Burke-class destroyers are multi-mission ships capable of performing a variety of missions ranging from peacetime presence and crisis management to naval control and power projection. Guided missile destroyers can simultaneously conduct air, surface and subsurface battles.
