Greece to Deploy Leonardo’s Kronos Grand Radar to Crete
Kronos Grand is an AESA technology, air and surface surveillance and search radar. It can also provide fire control missions simultaneously with the search procedures. It can detect and track aircraft, helicopters, UAVs, boats and ships, missiles, rockets and artillery shells. The maximum range of the Kronos Grand is 300 kilometres, while the maximum detection altitude is 30,000 feet (9,144 meters).Kronos Grand Mobile High Power is the latest evolution of the Kronos family with more powerful TRMs (Transmit-Receive Modules). Several customers worldwide, including in Europe, the Middle East, Asia Pacific and South America, already use the Kronos radar technology as the core sensor of their integrated air and missile defence system, with more than 40 radars in service. Kronos Grand Mobile High Power has already been selected as the surveillance and engagement radar for the Italian version of the Eurosam Consortium’s SAMP/T New Generation surface-to-air missile system.
