Greece may have asked for 12 F-35A

According to the Greek defence publication defence-point.Greek Air Force might plan to acquire 12 aircraft from the U.S. The DSCA announced 40 aircraft, but it was later stated that the plan could be 20. The publication claims that the plan could be 12 aircraft, which does not constitute a fighter fleet.
The publication also draws attention to the armament policy that the U.S. follows. It claims that 18 months have passed since June 2022, when the Special Standing Committee on Armament Programs and Contracts of the Greek Parliament was informed about the implementation of the F-16C/D Block 50 modernisation programs, as well as the purchase of AGM-84L HARPOON airborne anti-ship and AGM-88E AARGM anti-radar missiles. In addition, a December 26, 2022 publication mentioned that the LOR had been sent to the USA, which included the Greek request not only for HARPOON and AARGM but also for AGM-158 JASSM. The publication claims that Greece is waiting for a response to authorise the purchase of AAQ-33 SNIPER targeting pods, but the Turkish Air Force receives the green light for the aim-120c-8 AMRAAM long-range air-to-air missile, the SDB I/II bombs and the Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM).
