Fincantieri delivered Qatar's second Al Zubarah-class corvette
Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri has delivered Damsah, the second of four Al Zubarah-class corvettes, to the Qatari Defence Ministry. The Al Zubarah-class corvettes will perform a variety of tasks, from surveillance with sea rescue capacities to being fighting vessels.

The new Al Zubarah-class corvettes have a length of 107 meters and a beam of 14.7 meters and a combined diesel and diesel plant (CODAD) configured propulsion system. They will be capable of reaching a top speed of 28 knots with 112 crew on board.

The corvettes can operate high-speed boats like rigid hull inflatable boats (RHIBs) via lateral cranes or a hauling ramp located at the far stern. The flight deck and hangar are designed to accommodate one NH90 helicopter.

Fincantieri delivered the first Al Zubarah-class corvette to Qatar in October 2021.
