Egypt’s third Gowind-class Corvette Completes First Sea Trials

Naval Group announced on its social media accounts that the third Egyptian Gowind-class corvette ENS El Moez completed initial sea trials on July 5.

The ship is built in Egypt by Alexandria Shipyard Company. Egypt signed a €1 billion contract with Naval Group in 2014 to purchase four Gowind 2,500-ton corvettes, with two more options. Alexandria Shipyard will build three of the corvettes under a technology transfer agreement.El Moez was laid down in July 2018 and will be launched on May 12, 2019.
