Defence Industry Agency (SSB) initiated the Leopard 2A4 tank modernisation project as the TİYK-Leo2A4 Project. The TİYK-Leo2A4 aims to modernise tanks in the inventory to meet the future needs of the Land Forces Command.

ASELSAN became the major subcontractor responsible for tank mission systems after signing the contract on May 11, 2023.

ASELSAN will provide the Tank Fire Control System, Remote Controlled Weapon System (RCWS), Tank Command Control Communication and Information System, Tank Laser Warning System, Driver Sighting System, Active Protection System (AKKOR) and Close-Range Surveillance System according to the contract.

While the contract includes a complete Integrated Logistics Support Services package, on-site maintenance and repair support within this scope will allow vitally essential products to be ready for a high degree of duty.
