Altınay to Locally Manufacture ASIST
Turkey will produce Aircraft Ship Integrated Secure and Traverse (ASIST) locally. Altınay company announced on social media that it had undertaken the work on this issue.The ASIST is a shipboard helicopter landing system developed by Canadian company Indal Technologies which allows the helicopters to land on the ship and be taken to the hangar. The company is now part of the US conglomerate Curtiss-Wright.The ASIST system is used in the Navy"s TCG Bayraktar and TCG Sancaktar tank landing ships and Ada class anti-submarine warfare corvettes along with Gabya (Perry) and Barbaros (Meko 200) class frigates.ALTINAY Savunma Teknolojileri A.Ş. and STM A.Ş signed to supply the ASIST to be developed for the I-class frigates.
