2.07 billion to start working on the aircraft carrier
Republic of Korea (ROK) The Defence Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) announced its initial budget for a light aircraft carrier. F-35B aircraft will be deployed to the carrier.

The project, which was previously known as LPX-II but it is now renamed CVX and will be completed by 2033

DAPA stated that about USD 2.07 billion had been tentatively earmarked for the Republic of Korea Navy’s (RoKN’s) CVX Project.

Work on the carrier project is now set to officially begin in 2022 and be completed by 2033, according to DAPA. (RoKN)

The latest design confirms that the vessel will not have a ski-jump. Short take-off and vertical landing (STOVL) aircraft will be deployed.
