The First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska and Defence Minister Oleksii Reznikov announced on their Twitter account that the Ukrainian Navy’s Hetman Ivan Mazepa Corvette (F-211) is launched today.
The Corvette was built in Turkiye as STM Defence was the main contractor, and RMK Marine Shipyard built the ship. The Ada-class anti-submarine corvette will be the first ship in this class in Ukrainian Navy.
The First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska, Turkish Defence Minister Hulusi Akar, Ukrainian Navy Commander Oleksii Neizhpapa, President of Defence Industry Agency (SSB) Professor İsmail Demir, STM General Manager Özgür Güleryüz, SSB Vice President responsible from naval platforms Serdar Demirel, HAVELSAN Member of the Board of Directors and General Manager Mehmet Akif Nacar, Aselsan Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO Professor Haluk Görgün attended the ceremony.
Defence Minister Reznikov wrote on his account that the future base port will be Ukrainian Sevastopol.
