Ukraine Expects NASAMS in October
Air defence systems provide vital support to Ukrainian troops in the field. Ukraine is trying to improve its air-defence umbrella with foreign military aid.

According to Reuters and other sources, the United States of America has approved the sending of NASAMS air defence systems. It is thought that the USA approved sending a total of eight NASAMS. The first batch of two systems is expected in Ukraine soon. The remaining six will be delivered in a longer period. Ukraine Defence Minister Oleksiy Reznikov also emphasized that the Kyiv administration expects NASAMS soon.

Ukraine lost almost all of its medium and long-range air defence infrastructure in the first days of the Russian invasion. Thus, high-capacity air defence systems are in urgent need of defenders. The US Mission in NATO also recently shared information about procuring NASAMS to Ukraine from official channels.
