The Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Ambassador to the Republic of
Turkey, Amir Mohammed Ramin, has met the Diplomatic Correspondents Association
(DMD) in Ankara. Ramin made remarks about Turkish- Afghan relations and
explained the most recent developments. Ambassador Ramin answered TurDef’s
question about the mission of Turkish soldiers to protect the International Hamid
Karzai Airport. Ramin stated that Turkish soldiers are not on military duty at
the airport. They will provide the security as they already do. Ambassador indicated
that there are five layers of security at the airport, and Turkish soldiers
will be at the central. Afghanistan, with four layers of security, will provide
the outside security of the airport.
