ASELSAN made the most significant statement about the delivery of the ship in May. The company said at that time that “Testing activities of the Test and Training Ship TCG Ufuk have been completed, and the final acceptance phase has begun. Within the scope of the project, acceptance test activities of the systems were carried out. Mission Systems; Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), Harbour Acceptance Test (HAT) and Sea Acceptance Test (SAT) activities were carried out. LINE and SAT activities of Ship Systems were completed. Now the TCG Ufuk ship is counting the days for the final acceptance.”
It
was previously stated that the A-591 TCG Ufuk Ship would be delivered to the
Turkish Naval Forces on July 31, 2020. However, the delivery date of the ship
was delayed due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Later, in the statement made by
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, it was announced that the ship would be
delivered to the Naval Forces Command at the end of 2020. According to the
information obtained by TurDef, there was no obstacle in the delivery of the
ship to the navy. The ship is waiting for the day of delivery.
TCG
Ufuk is designed using the hull form of the MİLGEM Ada Class Corvette, can
navigate for 45 days without interruption in harsh climatic and marine
conditions, including international waters. She has a helipad for a 10-ton helicopter.
