Angola has earlier sought Turkish-made unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and the negotiations on Monday also involved armoured land vehicles, according to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
On Monday, Turkish President Erdogan stated that Turkey and Angola have possibilities for collaboration in the defence and energy sectors.
Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who was in Angola as part of his Africa tour, told a press conference alongside his Angolan counterpart, Joao Lourenco, that Angola had previously sought Turkish-made UAVs. At the same time, armoured carriers were discussed at Monday's meetings.
"In the previous 19 years, Turkey has taken numerous advances in the sector of the defence industry that have also piqued Angola's interest," Erdogan said, adding that the nations' defence ministers will meet again. Erdogan also announced that the Turkish-African business forum will be held in Turkey on Oct. 21-22, and the Turkish African Cooperation summit would be held in Istanbul on Dec. 17-18.
He said that the two nations can improve their collaboration in tourism, education, and trade.
