Turkish Aerospace and Defence Industry to showcase its products in Farnborough
One of the world’s most significant international aerospace shows, Farnborough, will open its doors for the first time since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic. The Airshow was last displayed in 2018. After four years of the interval of the Airshow, Turkish Defence, aerospace and airframe production companies will attend the show despite the weak Turkish Lira against the USD and Sterling.
Turkish Aerospace Inc (TUSAŞ), HAVELSAN, TUSAŞ Engine Inc, (TEI), Roketsan, Repkon Defence, Defence and Aerospace Industry Exporters Association, Merkad Makine, Alp Aviation, Saha Istanbul, HMS Makina.
TUSAŞ attends the Airshow with a Chalet, which will have air and static displays. T129 Atak, Hürkus aircraft will be in the sky daily to exhibit its capacity. Aksungur UAV, Anka UAV, Gökbey Helicopter, Şimşek UAV, T929 Helicopter, and Turkish fighter TF-X will be on the static display area. TF-X mock-up was first displayed in 2017 in Le Bourget Paris, and it will be the first time displayed in the UK. T-929 is also known as ATAK 2, a heavy attack helicopter under development. The twin-engine helicopter is designed for attack, electronic warfare and ISR missions in all-weather environments in day and night conditions.
Şimşek was developed as a target drone, but it recently became a part of the ANKA/ Aksungur UAV family. It will have many variations, including loitering munition. A supersonic version of Şimşek is also under development. Şimşek was previously launched from a ground station. The loitering munition version will be airborne and launched from a UAV.
