The Spanish Army recently paid nearly 450,000 euros for a batch of 15 new Barrett bullpup anti-material sniper rifles calibre 12.70 x 99 mm. This rifle (M95SP model) is already used by the Spanish Army's special operations command and parachute brigade.

Northern Technologies Defence is the company supplying the rifles because it was the only one to enter the tender. The Spanish Ministry of Defence, Northern Technologies Defence, and Barrett will formalise the order in September.

Barrett Firearms Company manufactures the Barrett M95, a bolt-action rifle chambered in.50 BMG. It has been adopted by some militaries worldwide. The Barrett M95 is an improved version of the previous Barrett M90.
