The Portuguese Navy (Marinha Portuguesa) presented a mothership design for UAVs. The plan is called PNM (Plataforma Naval Multifuncional). The vessel will have military use, such as protecting marine resources and the Portuguese sea and civilian use. The ship will be able to host a range of unmanned aerial, marine and underwater systems.

Even though the design is new, the concept was unveiled in May. The Marinha Portuguesa announced on 27 May that it is planning to design and build a vessel dedicated to deploying unmanned surface vessels (USVs), unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs), and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
