The F-35 Joint Program Office (JPO) told the magazine that deliveries of the new F135 engines had been discontinued on December 27. This decision is a joint agreement involving JPO, the Defence Contract Management Agency (DCMA), and engine manufacturer Pratt & Whitney.
Due to this incident, Lockheed Martin postponed the delivery
of seven aircraft in 2022 from what should have been 148 units to just 141
units. Israel has grounded 11 stealth fighters.
