Russia has announced another completion of acceptance tests. Russian Project 636.6 (NATO Reporting Name: Kilo) class submarine RFNS Ufa passed the trials. The process has been carried out at the Baltic Sea. During trials, mechanisms, systems, weapons and technical units when submerged and surfaced positions. It is reported that the sonar and radio equipment were also tested while the submarine was at full speed. It is known that RFNS Ufa has tested 190 metres depth also.
Project 636 Kilo submarines were nicknamed Black Holes by U.S. Navy personnel due to their quietness. The vessel is believed that includes some of the most advanced features of Russian submarine technology. These third-generation platforms are driven by diesel-electric propulsion and are described as the most noiseless in their class.
Russian Navy also continuously deployed three Project 636.3 submarines in the Black Sea fleet after the invasion of Ukraine began.
