The CIWS will have a Gatling system and look
similar to Phalanx in many aspects but differ from the electro-optic system it
will carry on board. The MKE’s solution will receive the information about the target
from vessels radars through the Advent system. Instead, it will have an electro-optic
system to track the target visually.
The electro-optical system on the system; has
a cooled thermal camera, a day camera and a laser rangefinder. The system
includes land and naval units; The system, which can protect against guided
missiles, air-to-ground missiles, cruise missiles, unmanned aerial vehicles,
planes and helicopters, was developed with domestic and national resources.
The 20 mm Rotary Barrel Weapon System will be
used in the system, which has a firing capacity of 4,000 rounds per minute and
an effective range of 2,000 meters. The system, which has a firing rate of
3000-4000 rounds/min, will have a weight of 3500 kilograms and a capacity of
1500 ammunition. The project is expected to be completed next year.
