The Mechanical and Chemical Industry Incorporated Company (MKE) will exhibit the full scale 76 mm naval gun at IDEF 21.

MKE wants to provide Turkish MİLGEM ships with 76 mm naval guns similar to the Oto Melara 76 mm compact gun variant. The Oto Melara compact model can fire 85 rounds per minute, while MKE’s gun can fire 80 rounds. It is also known that the Turkish navy shows interest in the Super Rapid variant, which has a higher rate of fire of 120 rounds per minute. It was developed in the early 1980s and remained current.

On 27 September 2006, Iran announced it had started mass production of a naval gun named the Fajr-27, a reverse-engineered Oto Melara 76 mm gun.
