Tunisian Defence Ministry announced that Tunisia and Greece had launched joint military exercises this week in the Mediterranean.

Two Navies aim to boost their coordination against the illegal maritime activity, including smuggling and irregular migration. Another goal was to develop maritime surveillance and search-and-rescue operations. The exercises were held in international waters near the Tunisian coast. The Hellenic Navy has involved its Salamis (F-455) frigate in this naval exercise. In contrast, the Tunisian Navy has participated in this joint maritime exercise with its PR HASDRUBAL 509.
