The ship is based on a 120-meter-long variant with a hangar design. It has a displacement of around 4,500 tonnes, a cruising speed of 14.8 knots, and a maximum speed of 16 knots. It can carry 361 fully equipped soldiers and other heavy equipment, including up to ten Leopard 2 main battle tanks of the Indonesian Army (TNI-AD). It also has a helicopter deck and hangar to accommodate two 10-ton helicopters. Two 40mm Bofors L70 guns and two 12.7mm heavy machine guns are mounted on the ship.
The Indonesian Defence Ministry has not yet awarded any additional contracts for the construction of additional ships of the class, while it plans to have a total of 12 ships of the class. The vessels are built indigenously by various Indonesian local shipyards.
