Indonesia has secured an agreement with Airbus Military for two A400M multirole transport aircraft. The order was first published during Dubai Air Show in November 2021. Indonesian A400Ms will be in multipurpose configuration, capable of carrying out tanker missions.
There are agreements
for 178 A400M, of which 116 have already been delivered to users. Indonesia
ordered airlifters to use on islands especially. It is known that Indonesia has
large, island-spread geography. A400M is aimed to provide critical transport
roles for trucks and heavy excavators during disaster relief in short,
unprepared runways. The aircraft is capable of delivering heavy payloads to the
required territory, even without proper runways.
