Malaysian
company Widad Business Group (WBG) will cooperate with HAVELSAN to meet the
needs of the Malaysian Armed Forces. In this context, the group aims to
strengthen Malaysia's armed forces and significantly reduce the cost of
training.
The Memorandum
of Understanding (MoU) between the parties was signed at the Asian Defence
Services Fair (DSA 2022).
Within
the cooperation framework, WBG will procure six paratrooper training simulators
used by Turkish commandos and special forces. The simulator provides year-round
training for personnel while reducing costs.
HAVELSAN General Manager Mehmet Akif Nacar stated that they actively follow various projects for the military, public and private sectors in Malaysia and established a regional office in Kuala Lumpur. Nacar said, "Malaysia is an important hub for HAVELSAN in the Southeast Asian region, so we are delighted to have found a reliable partner WBG to expand our reach and develop our ties in the country."
