The exclusive news
state that the Naval Group proposed five Gowind corvettes to Defence Ministry and
modernise the Greek shipyards. The publication states that the Navy seems to be
close to a new big agreement with the French after the new "hit" of
the Naval Group.
The proposal-relay towards the Dutch and Italians, which according to information completely satisfies Defence Ministry, provides for five instead of four Gowind corvettes with fast delivery and a cost that reaches approximately 1.8 billion euros, 100 million more than the previous one.
The Gowind corvette
proposed by the French includes 16 Mica anti-aircraft missiles, 8 Exocet Block
III anti-aircraft missiles, 76mm gun, RAM self-defence system, dual Sonar hull
and sliding, torpedoes, countermeasures and the NS-110 radar. Configuration refers
to a small frigate.
