The United States Army has awarded Boeing a contract to build 12 new CH-47F Chinook helicopters for the Egyptian Air Force. Egypt will replace its fleet of CH-47D aircraft with the modern F model, benefiting from its advanced multi-mission capabilities, as part of this $426 million foreign military sale (FMS).

The CH-47F is a multi-mission helicopter used by the United States Army and other international defence forces. It has a fully integrated digital cockpit management system, a cockpit based on the Common Avionics Architecture System, and advanced cargo-handling capabilities that enhance the aircraft's mission performance and handling characteristics.
