Çakır Becomes the New Managing Director of TAİS

Former Commander of Istanbul Naval Shipyard retired Rear Admiral Ahmet Çakır is appointed as the new Managing Director of TAIS Shipyards and Technology.

TAİS is a consortium established with the cooperation of three shipyards, Anadolu Shipyard, Sedef Shipyard and Sefine Shipyard, to export their products to the international market. The company has recently won a tender in Turkiye to construct three I Class frigates under MİLGEM Programme in 36 months. The programme will be run for the first time by private shipyards.

Çakır retired in 2018 as the Commander of Naval Technics and started to work at TAİS asthe Director of Defence Programmes.
