Bayraktar continues to deliver TB2 UAVs with ASELSAN’s Common Aperture Targeting System (CATS) payloads. The new batch is delivered to the Turkish Land Forces Command, President of Defence Industries (SSB) Professor İsmail Demir announced.

“We made new deliveries of our #BAYRAKTAR TB2s produced by @BaykarTech to our Land Forces Command. In addition, our #CATS cameras, which we produced with domestic facilities, were used in the UCAVs we delivered.” Demir said on its Twitter account.

Turkish TB2s were used in Azerbaijan – Armenia Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Armenia complained about the products and convinced Canada to apply an embargo on Turkey. Canadian company L3HarrisWescam was the main supplier of Wescam MX-15 surveillance and targeting pods for TB2s. As an answer to the Canadian embargo, ASELSAN started manufacturing the required payloads.

The President of ASELSAN, Professor Haluk Görgün has, stated in 2021 that ASELSAN had delivered 13 CATS until that day. Demir’s statement indicates that the production and integration of CATS into TB2s continue.
