Australia to Acquire 40 Black Hawks with $1.95 billion price tag

The US State Department has approved a possible Foreign Military Sale (FMS) to Australia of UH-60M Black Hawk Helicopters and related equipment for an estimated cost of $1.95 billion. The Defence Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale today.




Australia has requested 40 UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters, 88 T700-GE 701D engines, 44 AN/AAR-57 Counter Missile Warning Systems (CMWS), relevant technical support, training, and logistic support. The estimated total cost is $1.95 billion.
