Ferhat Özsoy, General Manager of
ASPİLSAN, stated that most of the world’s energy needs are provided by fossil
fuels, which negatively affect the environment. Hydrogen is a good alternative
to this.
Stating that only 4% of hydrogen is
produced cleanly worldwide, a “Hydrogen Roadmap” has been formed globally; Özsoy
pointed out that ASPİLSAN is a member of the European Clean Hydrogen Alliance, which
aims at an ambitious deployment of hydrogen technologies by 2030.
Özsoy underlined that they continue their activities with R&D and workshops to reach zero carbon emissions. Özsoy stated that this energy is used in vehicles such as UAVs, cars, trucks and buses.
These batteries are also suitable for air-independent
propulsion (AIP) type submarines.
ASPİLSAN developed the proton
exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cell, installed at REIS class submarines.
ASPİLSAN introduced the membrane
electrode kit of these fuel cells and the fuel cell itself.
