ASELSAN modernised 50 VAB three-axle armoured vehicles. The modernisation programme is completed in four months. Sarp remote-controlled weapon station, surveillance, vision and intercom equipment integrated into VABs. V/UHF radio equipment was also replaced with modern systems. Platforms are upgraded as a part of FIFA 2022 World Cup Security preparations.Turkiye and Qatar are carrying out extensive cooperation for the World Cup event. Ankara also provided security, police and military assistance to Doha, both in consultancy and on the field.
