Turkish Defence Minister Akar recently attended the Grand National Assembly of Turkiye Plan and Budget Committee. CHP Istanbul Deputy Emine Gülizar Emecan posed several questions. Akar provided some written answers.
Akar said that AKINCI Armed UAV and KIZILELMA Fighter UAVs have Ukrainian engines and added, “Although the Ukrainian Defence Industry infrastructure was partially damaged due to the war, the defence industry cooperation with the Ukrainian side in engine production continues.”
Baykar works
with the Ivchenko-Progress company established at Zaporizhzhia. The design
bureau works closely with Motor Sich, the turbine manufacturer in the same city
that produces those engines. Russia has attacked several times to Zaporizhzhia
and targeted Motor Sich.
Akıncı UAV
has Turboprop engine AI-450C. KIZILELMA -A has , AI-25TLT Turbofan engine. KIZILELMA -B and KIZILELMA
C will have AI-322F engines.
