A photograph of a US Navy F-35C that fell into the water from the deck of the USS Carl Vinson has been leaked.
On Monday in the South China Sea, an F-35C Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter experienced a "landing incident" on the deck of the USS Carl Vinson.
Today, a snapshot of the event was posted on Reddit.
When the disaster happened, the F-35C Lightning II, belonging to Carrier Air Wing 2, was performing regular flying operations in the South China Sea. The pilot of the plane "safely evacuated."
Seven sailors were hurt, three being taken to a hospital in Manila, Philippines.
The US Navy is making arrangements to recover the aircraft.
